Conference moves to ‘greener’ pastures

TESL Ontario’s 41st Annual Conference —  “Merging and Emerging Pathways through Language” — will take place October 24-26, 2013. New this year – most of the conference is happening at the environmentally friendly Allstream Centre at Exhibition Place, aka “Canada’s Greenest Conference Centre.” If you’re planning on staying in Toronto for the conference, accommodations will still be hosted by the environmentally less-friendly (but still nice) Sheraton Centre, downtown near the Eaton Centre.

Join the Board: July 9 deadline

TESL Ontario is looking for three new board members, preferably who have “knowledge of finances/budgets/funding” and a “strong understanding of LINC / ELT (CIC-funded) and / or ESL /SLT (MCI-funded) programs.” Fyi: if you don’t know what those acronyms mean (without peeking), then your understanding is probably not strong enough to join the board. Just sayin’.

And the award goes to…

… a deserving colleague perhaps? August 16, 2013, is the deadline to nominate someone for TESL Ontario’s Distinguished Contribution or Sparks of Excellence Awards.
