If you already have some ESL teaching experience, and would like further training that will help you develop your skills (and set your resume apart from everyone else’s) consider a Post TESL Certificate Training (PTCT) course. Humber College is offering a Language Training for Employment course beginning on May 11, and there are still a few spaces left.
Course Description: The launch of new Language Training for Employment programs such as Occupation-specific Language Training (OSLT) has created an increasing need for qualified instructors with the knowledge and experience to teach the specific language and communication needs of immigrants preparing to enter the Canadian work force. This course builds on experienced ESL instructors’ professional classroom skills and knowledge with training specific to the instructional context of employment-related programs such as OSLT, ELT (Enhanced Language Training), English for Nursing and Business English.
Course fee: $325. You are eligible for training fee reimbursement if you are currently teaching full time or part time in a CIC-funded program (LINC, ELT, or OSLT) in Ontario.
